Colleen grew up in south central Washington State, married and relocated to Western Washington in 1992. With her husband they raised 6 children. Colleen lives just down the street from the Wolf Camp home office at Blue Skye Farm, keeping track of camp registrations, watching the farm when Kim & Chris are off teaching, and making sure sign-in/sign-out runs smoothly at camp. Besides assisting Wolf Camp instructors all summer, Colleen also substitutes as a para-educator with the Puyallup School District during the fall and winter months.

Charlie first came to camp in 2006 after having attending Hawk Circle in Cherry Valley, NY, and has since completed all of our summer courses, including the Ultimate Tracker. He completed our week-long Naturalist Mentoring CIT course in 2007 and our Earth Skills Teaching Apprenticeship in 2009. Charlie is the most amazing lead guitarist and story teller. He re-invented our Epic Fishing Camp in 2010 for which he is now our perennial lead instructor, and has lead and co-taught most of our other camps including Wilderness Survival and the Stone Age Artisan. Charlie graduated from the French Culinary Institute in San Jose, CA in 2011 and his skills as a chef have transformed our meals at Wolf Camp into gourmet fair. Charlie also developed our Backcountry Gourmet Cooking Class which launched in the spring of 2013. He is also co-developer of the Wilderness Wannabies Comedy Tour, and most recently, he earned a Level I Track & Sign Certification from Cybertracker, Int’l in 2013. Megan completed the bulk of our Earth Skills Teaching Apprenticeship in 2006 and returned to complete her training and lead instruct Wild Chefs & Herbal Medics in the summer of 2008. She has studied permaculture with Dave Boehnlein, Toby Hemenway and at the Sustainable Agriculture Program at Edmonds Community College. She has pursued herbal education for over 10 years on her own and with various teachers. Most recently she completed her 1st year of the Professional Herbalist course at IIEI with KP Kalsa in 2014 and is currently pursuing the Professional Herb Course with East West School of Planetary Herbalogy. She also completed the Hunter Gatherer Immersion Course with Raven’s Roots in 2015 where she learned bow making and wild food harvesting all over Washington State.
Megan has worked with kids for over 10 years as a caregiver for all ages. She also had the opportunity to volunteer at her daughter’s Waldorf Preschool for 2 years where she found her love for Waldorf education. Her interests include cooking, hiking, foraging, and having adventures with her family. She lives on Vashon Island with her partner Gavin and their 5 year old daughter, Runa, a seasoned Wolf Camper. Kat’s philosophy is “Before you can ask someone to protect the environment, you have to first teach them to love it.” Kat is a Pacific Northwest semi-native (she’s also lived and worked in Japan, Indonesia, New England and the Midwest). She has been teaching outdoor environmental education (and many other subjects) for both kids and adults for most of her life. She has worked at Nature’s Classroom in New England, state parks in Missouri, Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts on the West Coast, and for various schools and volunteer organizations. She currently works part-time as a preschool and elementary substitute teacher during the school year.
Kat also loves teaching low ropes challenge courses and teambuilding experiences; outdoors skills such as tracking, herbology, and survival skills; nature conservation, environmental science, and ethics; night hikes; outdoor games; wild cave tours; traditional dance (Irish, Scottish, colonial, contradance); and she even leads online Shakepeare readings 2-3 times per month in her spare time. Her interests include hiking, camping, gardening, cooking, making homemade jams and preserving food, writing, dancing, theatre, horseback riding, arts & crafts, martial arts, and keeping herself (and others) sharp with puzzles and riddles. She graduated from Grinnell College in IA in 1993 with an elementary teaching certificate and degrees in American Studies and Gender & Women’s Studies. Bridget just graduated from Oregon State University with her bachelor’s in Environmental Science, specializing in applied ecology. She has loved learning about Earth sciences since she was a kid attending and later volunteering for her local junior garden club. She also learned about conservation throughout her years of summer camp at Wekiwa Springs State Park in Florida. From there she attended Save the Earth’s Environment through Knowledge, or SEEK, where she realized she wanted to do exactly that for a living. Sharing her love of nature conservation and science with her local community is one of the main reasons that she came to Wolf Camp for the Earth Skills Teaching Apprenticeship. As someone with a background in subtropical Florida, Wolf Camp provided her an expansive education on the plants and animals of the Pacific Northwest, along with how to handle temperatures below a practically freezing 70 degrees. Bridget continued her education after graduating from college, earning her Wetland Deliniation Certificate while teaching with us in the summer of 2024, and a Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GIS) Certificate from Palmer Scholars later in the fall, setting her up to land a position with the City of Tacoma environmental services division in 2025.

Roboticist, sailor, musician, earth skills specialist, fellow hiker and friend… these traits are the foundation of Nathaniel’s vibrant personality. Having grown up in a family of outdoor enthusiasts, and with the Olympic National Park as his backyard, Nathaniel has had plenty of experience with plants and wildlife of the Pacific Northwest. Occupying his free time are overnight hikes through evergreen forests, and journeys along snowy mountain ranges.
His joy for the outdoors brought Nathaniel to us as a camper, in search of the skills that would allow him to become a better conservationist. The community and wealth of knowledge he found led him to continue attending, and growing in his teaching skills, until eventually becoming camp staff. He completed the Double IT Mentoring Program at age 16, the Earth Skills Teaching Apprenticeship at age 17, became a camp instructor at age 18, and lead instructor at age 19. Now you’ll find Nathaniel sharing his love for the wilderness with campers of all ages, bringing creativity and excitement to his teaching methods.

Eve has been wonderful part of Wolf Camp as well as our home office of Blue Skye Farm for the past few years, completing our Blue Skye Farm Internship in 2022 and finishing her Earth Skills Teaching Apprentice in 2023. In truth, she was born into the legacy of Wolf Camp, with her mom being the first instructor to teach our programs in 1996. Eve spent some of her childhood in New Mexico but most in Chile where she grew up enjoying the country’s beautiful hiking spots along beaches, mountains and many other diverse bioregions. Eve now lives in Puyallup half the year, and has been traveling the world each winter (Korea being her favorite destination) as part of gap years between high school and university, and plans to start at Evergreen State College this year. As a camp instructor, Eve loves to teach young children the many earth and survival skills in which we specialize, as well as a love for nature through fun activities and gentle mentoring, hoping to convey respect and appreciation for the nature all around us. Eve also enjoys crochet, music, reading, art, hiking and all the opportunities this life has to offer.

Devon was introduced to Wolf Camp as a child by a staff member at Wolf Haven, a sanctuary for wolves in Tenino, Washington. She has always loved nature and animals, especially wolves and horses. In her childhood she enjoyed playing imagination games in the woods, and felt a deep connection there.
Devon’s notable experiences include work at psychiatric hospitals as a Mental Health Technician starting in 2022 while getting her A.A. degree from South Puget Sound Community College. She continued that work every academic year as she studied to achieve her B.S. degree in Psychology in winter quarter 2025 from Western Washington University. Devon also volunteered at a Crisis Hotline while in high school and she’s also worked and volunteered at several horse stables, including helping at an equestrian summer camp.
Devon is now pursuing a Master’s in Clinical Counseling, and is an advocate for children who are neurodivergent or struggle in other ways because of her own life experiences. In her spare time, she enjoys taking her friends on adventures to nature spots, going to new places, hiking, long walks and drives, listening to music, and going to punk shows.

Grisha has been a proud member of the Wolf Camp every summer since he was nine, and like many of our staff has risen through the ranks from camper into roles like Double IT, Earth Skills Teaching Apprentice and graduating to Assistant Instructor in 2023. Despite growing up in Brooklyn NY (with a short stint in Seattle) he has always been interested in the outdoors, and gets out of the city as much as he can to hike, explore and learn with local friends and family, even if that means backpacking through the snowy winter landscape. He currently attends Hunter College High School in Manhattan, where along with being the president of its sole wilderness club, he’s in charge of the school auditorium tech needs such as drama productions. He runs events, maintains old equipment, purchases new items and delights in training younger students in all of these tasks. This passion for teaching extends back to Wolf Camp, where he is thrilled to embark on his third summer teaching campers about how to coexist with our incredibly special region of the country. In addition to excelling in the outdoors – including choosing the most remote location in the history of Wolf Camp for his solo survival training trek last year – Grisha has a wide variety of interests, including stage managing, poetry and cooking.

Luna started as a student at Wolf Camp when she was a pre-teen. She’s lived in Issaquah her whole life and attends Issaquah High School. With strong aspirations to be a teacher when she’s older, she has a passion for mentoring young minds. She believes that summer camp instructors can have an intense influence on the campers and strives to be a good role model. Through being a camper, and then Wolf Camp Double IT in 2022 and Earth Skills Teaching Apprentice in 2023, she has learned wilderness skills and an appreciation for nature around her. She loves camping, especially during the summer when the weather is nice. While camping on clear nights, she loves admiring the stars with those around her. She tries to create a bond between every camper she meets, and loves making kids laugh while teaching them about the beauty nature holds and how to use natural resources to the benefit of us all.

Coco has attended Wolf Camp since 2018. She attended Bellingham Montessori and Explorations High School, spent her entire junior year in Spain, and is now attending Whatcom Community College. She’s always taking advantage of the many opportunities to hike and backpack on the abundant trails surrounding her beautiful town near the Canadian border, and likes small walks as well, admiring the simplicity of nature and life she’s living within. With her desire to stay outside and learn she also hopes to fill other young minds and share her experiences and knowledge. Coco started as a camper with us in 2019 and rose through the ranks into roles like Double IT, Earth Skills Teaching Apprentice and then graduating to Assistant Instructor in 2023. Simone first started attending Wolf Camp since 2019, began our IIT program in 2022, and graduated from our Earth Skills Teaching Apprenticeship in 2024. With a combination of intensity and goofiness, Simone is the epitome of everyone’s favorite outdoor camp leader. Throughout her life, she’s treasured her time outdoors, putting her all into sports and outdoor programs, always learning and playing no matter what the weather is like. She’s twice certified as a Wilderness First Responder by the time she turned 18, and serves in leadership roles at Whatcom Community College. Molly’s completed the Wolf Camp Earth Skills Teaching Apprenticeship in 2024. The collaborative and hands-on learning environment at Wolf Camp reinforced her passion for environmental education, inspiring her to return as an instructor with us. Within her focused pedagogical approach, fostering relationships within her students is a top priority along with stewardship of the land. Molly feels passionately that stewardship can serve as a strong foundation for how young minds grow and interact with the world around them. Her intention is to build her students up for a lifelong connection with the natural world and the skills needed to engage with it in meaningful and sustainable ways. She hopes to inspire a sense of wonder and responsibility in her students, empowering them to become thoughtful stewards of the environment in their own communities.

Jake attended his first week of wolf camp at the age of six, and has enjoyed every summer with us since then.
